This small landscape was made after a visit to Blue Heron Farm, in Chilmark. I was taken by the dramatic juxtaposition of farm and sea, earth and sky, humans and nature. Working in strict black-and-white, which admits no subtle midtones, gave me the opportunity (and the need) to turn this into a study in pattern and movement.
