Operating steps of magnetic separator:
- Iron removal step: after pre-treatment, the product enters a high gradient separator, and the iron removal effect is realized by the magnetic field. Non-magnetic ore particles enter the concentrate tank through the cage gap, while magnetic ore particles are absorbed and excluded by the magnetic field.
- Concentrate tank slurry reflux: after a certain time, the magnetic medium in the internal magnetic separator absorbs more iron, and then the slurry reflux step is carried out. Part of the finished magnetic slurry is sent back to the slurry box to reduce the production loss.
- Iron removal step: the iron attached to the magnetic medium is removed by the pressure of the water pump. When the high gradient magnetic separator stops excitation, the magnetic field disappears, and the attached iron is washed away by water pressure and discharged into the sewage tank.
- The function of the separation ring sorting room: the separation ring is one of the key components in the magnetic separator, which generates a uniform and adsorbable strong magnetic field through the magnetized cage and magnetic medium. This strong magnetic field makes the magnetic ore particles be adsorbed and rotate along the magnetic ring, and finally move to the top non-magnetic zone, where they are washed by high-pressure water and discharged into the magnetic particle tailings chute.
- Pre-preparation of iron removal process: Before iron removal by magnetic separator, the product goes through the upstream process to ensure the iron removal state. At the same time, dispersant (such as sodium hexametaphosphate or other silane dispersant) is added to fully adhere and disperse ore particles, and the pH value is adjusted to meet the standard requirements (slightly acidic pH value may be required to exceed 7 in some areas).
- Apply magnetic field to remove iron: In the high gradient separator, the excitation coil is energized to generate a strong magnetic field, and the mud is pumped into the high tank, and then the iron is removed by flowing into the equipment. Under the action of magnetic field, magnetic ore particles are adsorbed and removed, while non-magnetic ore particles are not affected by magnetic force and enter the concentrate tank.
- Magnetic slurry reflux after iron removal: after a period of time, the internal magnetic medium has absorbed more iron, and then the magnetic slurry reflux step is carried out. A part of finished magnetic slurry is redirected back to the slurry box to reduce production loss and improve efficiency.
- Iron removal process: in the iron removal stage, the iron attached to the magnetic medium is cleaned and removed by the pressure of the water pump. The excitation of the high gradient magnetic separator stops, and after the magnetic field disappears, the main pump starts to work, which pressurizes the water into the magnetic chamber and discharges the iron into the sewage tank.
